Minimalism Stamp Panel

Objective:

Design a stamp panel and a series of stamps to commemorate a specific design event or milestone that holds a potential influence on your work or thinking.

Concept:

The Minimalism Movement started in New York in the early 1960s. Minimalists often created artwork that blurred the boundaries between painting and sculpture, and were characterized by the reduction of geometric forms, colors, lines, and textures. Each stamp represents one of five different types of minimalistic art during the movement.

The stamps and panel below are simple and clean, yet they contain all the necessary information to carry the idea of Minimalism across. As my style of design corresponds to the same simplicity seen in Minimalism, I feel as if this specific art movement has a lot of influence on my work as a designer.

Tasks:

Interpret or incorporate significant concepts as thoroughly as possible and organize verbal and visual elements on the panel so the piece communicates on several levels.
